Court Rejects Apple's Initial Request In E-book Case

Apple had previously put an issue in court about being monitor in the e-book price-fixing case. But the federal appellate court has rejected the initial request of Apple to remove monitor. Judge Denise Cote has previously appointed Washington based lawyer, Micheal R. Bromwich with five publisers as a monitor for fix pricing of ebooks. A one-page ruling from a panel of three judges of US Court are appealing for the Second Circuit which put some limits on how far can Bromwich can ask and demand documents with Apple employees. Even though the one page ruling says that the job of monitor is just to check and whether the company is going with right procedures which comply with federal rules and laws, the 1st request has been denined by the court. In January, Judge Cote rejected to remove her appointment of Mr Bromwich. She also has warned Apple and its lawers to stop appealing and challenging for the authority of monitor. But Apple is constant claiming that, there is no need for monitor now because the compaly is already planning to bring pricing policies which obeys and into compliance with federal laws.
